WELCOME TO ATIS RESTAURANT,

IN THE HOUSE THAT WAS BUILT IN THE STYLE OF ORGANIC ARCHITECTURE. THIS STYLE IS BASED ON ELEMENTS FOUND IN NATURE – SUCH AS STREAMS AND THEIR BANKS, TREES, FLYING CLOUDS AND SIMILAR ELEMENTS.

IN EUROPE, ORGANIC ARCHITECTURE WAS PROMOTED AND IN THIS STYLE PROMINENT ARCHITECTS CREATED, THE KATALAN ANTONI GAUDÍ AND THE AUSTRIAN ARCHITECT FRIEDENSREICH HUNDERTWASSER WHO WERE ALSO INSPIRED BY NATURAL SHAPES, THEY EVEN CLAIMED THAT THE STRAIGHT LINE IS GODLESS….NOT ONLY BY THEIR WORK, BUT ALSO BY NATURE AND ITS ELEMENTS THE AUTHOR OF THE OBJECT, ARCHITECT ENGINEER VLADIMIR KAČER WAS INSPIRED. AT THE END OF 1990s, ING. ARCH. VLADIMIR KAČER TOGETHER WITH VÁCLAV HRUBÝ FACED THE CHALLANGE TO CREATE AT THE END OF THE FORMER FARMSTEAD ON THE SITE OF BARNS COUNTERBALANCE TO THE CHATEAU. ACCORDING TO THE ARCHITECT´S OWN WORDS, HE DID NOT WANT TO BUILD A COPY OF THE LATE BAROQUE CASTLE, BUT HE WANTED TO CREATE A REALLY FAIRY TALE OBJECT. AND AS IT IS WRITTEN ON A COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE IN FRONT OF A LARGE RESTAURANT HALL IN THE PARK WITH his FINGERPRINT :“ WITH THESE HANDS I DREW THIS OBJECT AND BUILT IT IN PART, THANK ALL THOSE WHO HELPED ME“. THE WHOLE WORK ACCORDING TO his DESIGN HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED SO FAR ,THE EXISTING PART WAS OPENED IN 2000. THE UDBUILT CONSTRUCTION REMINDS US UNFINISHED ARCS NEAR THE ENTRANCE. NATURAL ELEMENTS CAN BE FOUND IN THE BUILDING IN MANY PLACES: TO THE BASEMENT LEADS, RATHER A STREAM FLOWS FROM WAVY GRANITE CUBES, IN MULTIPLE PLACES YOU WILL SEE BRICKS WAVY FOSSILIZED SEDIMENTS , SUCH AS IN PRAGUE UNDER BARRANDOV OR AT KARLŠTEJN. IN THE LARGE SPACE BEHIND THE BAR NOT ONLY DOES THE ENTIRE SOUTHERN SIDE FORM THE SILHOUETTE OF THE TREE, BUT THE TRUNK OF THE REAL OLD LIME tree IS INTERWOVEN BETWEEN THE FLOOR AND THE CEILING AT THE SAME PLACE.
ALL THE METAL RAILINGS WERE COPIED FROM BRANCHES ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK, CURVING BRANCHES OF DECIDUOUS TREES AND BRANCHES OF CONIFERS ALSO APPEAR IN THE STRUCTURE OF DOOR FILLINGS IN THE CLUB. ALONG THE WALLS, WHITE CLOUDS ARE FLYING EVERYWHERE, FROM WHICH STARS SHINE OF NESTED FIXTURES IN THE EVENING.

ING. ARCH VLADIMIR KAČER HAD YET ANOTHER LOVE: HUMAN AND ESPECIALLY HIS FACE – AND THE WORK OF JULES VERNe. TRY COUNTING WITH US: AT ATIS (RESTAURANT) WE FOUND 72 HUMAN FACES: CARVED FROM WOOD, METAL AND ENGRAVED INTO CONCRETE. ALL FLOORS PASSes THROUGH – VERNE’S SUBMARINE NAUTILUS ( THE LIFT ) , FROM THE WALLS AIMING CANNONS of OLD KARAVELs AND FREGATS. PART OF THE BALCONY LOOKS LIKE OUT OF THE STEEL CITY.

KAČER ( THE DUCK IN ENGLISH) THE NAME APPEARS ALSO IN THE NAME OF THE ATIS OBJECT: LATIN ANAS , -ATIS ( ANATIS ) IT MEANS A DUCK IN CZECH. EVEN AFTER HIS PREMATURE DEATH, THE ATIS HOUSE REMAINS A UNIQUE WORK IN THE STYLE OF ORGANIC ARCHITECTURE THROUGHOUT THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
